Fishing Seminars a success

Our fishing seminars this year have been a success.  This year we tried something new and had the seminars at the beach so the guides could share not only information but show techniques at the waters edge. Thank you to all of our fishing guides who donated their time to share their knowledge with our guests: Bob Bertch, Marty Clauson, Mike Errington, Erv Keller and Russ and Jake Smith.

Below are pictures from this weeks seminar with Russ and Jake Smith.

Records Broken!

The week of August 10th – 17th broke two records! First was the most people at the resort in one week. We topped out at 115 people here this week. WOW! It was amazing to see, every inch of the property was being enjoyed. John and I loved it! This is what having a vacation experience is all about. Many memories were made, friendships strengthened and new friendships made.

The second record was the most people ever at one of our weekly picnics. We served 106 people at the picnic. So much fun!

Balloons, balloons and more balloons!

Larry and Linda learned the fine art of Balloon tying for their grandkids and they shared their talent with everyone at the picnic this week. Thanks to you both for bringing smiles to all faces, young and old!

Wedding Day!

We were honored today to have our first large wedding on the property. Close to 100 family and guests enjoyed themselves on our property. The day started out gloomy and rainy, but a few minutes before the 4PM ceremony the sun started shining through the clouds. I took some pre-wedding photos. the area near the barn and the fish hatchery made for a great backdrop for the wedding. The wedding photography said she would share some of her photos with us. When I get them I’ll post them for you to enjoy.

The ceremony took place on the grassy area just before you walk down the steps by the fish hatchery. The bride came walking across the bridge from the picnic pavilion.

New Nature Trail

John and Chris spent this fall adding to our nature trail. They created a south trail that branches off of the loop that goes past the barn. this adds another 1/4 mile to the hiking trail. It is a more rustic, natural nature trail. There was a women’s retreat here last weekend and we gave the trail a try with our snowshoes. What a beautiful hike it was! Snow has finally come to the Northwoods and it is beautiful! Enjoy the pictures.

Reliving Memories

Last week my niece, Sierra, spent a weeks vacation at the resort. She just graduated from college in May and this is the first summer she has been able to be here since high school. It was such a joy to watch her relive all of her childhood memories. She was here for 6 days and she filled it with every possible activity she could. I had a smile on my face the whole week watching her. It truly reminds me why White Birch Village is such a special place and why our statement “Where memories are Made” is what this resort is all about. Along with the pictures of Sierra’s activities for the week they also participated in the teen/adult treasure hunt, did the scavenger hunt, took several pontoon boat rides, spent time in the game room and the hot tub. the only disappointment for her was that there wasn’t a picnic the week she was here.

Fishing!

This is what your face looks like when you lose the first musky you have ever had on your line 🙂

Sierras friend, Mari, caught the largest fish of the week! It was a 24-25 inch northern.

They even got into the hunt for Charlie.

The creek was a favorite of Sierras! They caught frogs and crayfish!

This is a great photo of how the resort looks at night from the lake.

Campfire Fun!

The past three weeks the campfire pit has been a busy place. One night there was over 35 people enjoying the fire, roasting marshmallows and making memories.

A letter to the chippies

During one of our Thursday morning treasure hunts a little girl didn’t want the chipmunks to think she had forgotten about feeding them. So she left them this note and a bowl of peanuts while she was busy on the treasure hunt. What spoiled chipmunks we have here at the resort.
