Charile is very popular

Charlie is a very popular chipmunk!  In the course of a week he is found and hidden several times. Last week little 3-year-old Kaylee was so excited when she found him and so proud to show me where she had hidden Charlie.

Kaylee was so proud that she found Charlie!

Here's Kaylee's hiding spot....can you figure out where it is?

Finding Charlie is not limited to the young....Grace found Charlie and brought him along when her family checked in yesterday!

On to his next hiding spot...peeking around the tree.

Quinn, Will and Susanna were not going to rest until they found Charlie today.

Here's Charlie's latest hiding spot. Not sure he'll last there for long!

Digital Scavenger Hunt

This season we are doing a digital scavenger hunt. Using their digital camera guests are taking pictures using one of three scavenger lists. They can choose from one of the following 3 lists or do all three.

  1. Nature list – something that reflects, dead log, crawly critter and a variety of other items.
  2. Creative List – A black and White photo, a scene a poet may be inspired to write a poem about, a relaxing place and a variety of other items.
  3. Fanciful List – “I can’t believe we all fit in here”,  capture your reflection in an unusual place, kissing a fish and a variety of other items.

All pictures submitted will be put in our digital photo frame at the front desk and a winning picture will be chosen to be put on the blog. Here’s this past weeks winning pictures. There was a tie and both pictures were taken by the Randy Friesema family.

From the "Get CLose" category on the nature list.

Momma and babies are on Ballard Lake this year. Unfortunately the Loon eggs on White Birch were eaten by an animal.

Charlie had a busy day today. He was found and hid 3 different times!

Libby, Connor and Jack were the first to find Charlie this week!

Here's where they hid Charlie.

It didn't take the girls long to find Charlie. I think they were spying on the other group as they hid him!

Charlie found himself laying next to this stump. He's still there and hasn't been found!

More fish pictures

Our carpenter likes taking these underwater shots. Not so much pine pollen in the water this time. The last ones that were posted the pollen was clouding the water.

Enjoying the crumbs that were dropped in the water.

Swimming along on the bottom of beautiful White Birch Creek!

Where’s Charlie has begun

Charlie is back for his summer adventure. This winter he sat out on the ice waiting to plunge into the depths of White Birch Lake. Now he’s decided to hide somewhere on the WBV property. Will you be able to find him when you are here? If you are vacationing with us and you find Charlie your photo will be taken with him and put here on the blog.  Then you get the fun of finding him a new hiding spot. So instead of Where’s Waldo….it’s Where’s Charlie?

This was Charlie's first hiding spot. He was snuggled in next to a rock and was very happy to take shelter from the rain.

Niko and Lexi were the first to find Charlie. they found him today, June 11th. they had fun hiding Charlie for the next person to find him. will it be you?

Playground Update

The playground continues to move forward. By Monday the spiral tube slide and the preschool slide should be in place. The tire swing went up today, no pictures of the tire swing yet as it rained most of the day (YEAH!!!) today and I couldn’t get any photos taken. The pictures posted here were taken yesterday.

Swing extension. There will be 3 swings on the new playground.

The 2 towers, the tire swing will hang in the middle.

The view from the old bridge. The monkey bars will be on the left side.
