You’ll be surprised. There is so much to do at White Birch Village Resort; you may never want to leave the grounds. But, when you do, you will find all of northern Wisconsin (and even the Upper Peninsula of Michigan) at your doorstep….

Coontail
Coontail was founded by the Coon family in 1991. We provide stylish, high-quality clothing and footwear and back everything we sell with exceptional customer service. Coontail is northern Wisconsin’s leading paddle board and kayak dealer.
Northern Highland Sports
Complete fishing equipment, indoor live bait room, lake maps. Swimming, hunting supplies, snowmobile access. Souvenir T-shirts and sweatshirts.
Peeplelures
The Northwoods’ largest collection of original jewelry in 18K and 14k gold, gold-filled and sterling silver. Specializing in colored gemstones and inlaid jewelry. We ship anywhere. Open all year 7 days-a-week.
Sayner-Star Lake
A Creative Wayside: Cre-ate is a Gift Shop of Sorts, located in downtown Sayner, Wisconsin! While taking your break, pick up a Town of Plum Lake t-shirt and sweatshirt. A variety of area lakes, campgrounds, and bike trail sweatshirts and T-shirts are also available. We carry a variety of local artists’ pieces, plus we feature STORMY KROMER®, LazyOne®, and Coolibar® products.
Star Lake Store, reminiscent of a typical General Store in America’s yesteryear, offers a wide and eclectic range of vacation necessities. The store’s vast inventory includes gifts, groceries, bait, fishing and camping supplies, clothing, boat rentals, and deer registration services. The store, which also acts as an official post office, also provides hand-scooped ice cream, beer, wine, and liquor. Open May through October.
Traditions
Traditions is a full-service gift and home furnishings boutique offering a wide selection of items that depart from the traditional “Northwoods flavor.” Owner Jessica Drallmeier assists patrons in decorating their homes in style, and is available for offsite decorating consulting. Patrons can also get decorating ideas from Traditions’ tastefully displayed rooms and order furniture directly from Traditions. Gift items include candles, holiday items, jewelry, handbags, wall décor, serving ware and more.
Northwoods Zip Line
Northwoods Zip Line Tours is Wisconsin’s newest and most exciting tour! We are a true Canopy tour as our tour is built in and around native Pine Trees, creating the ultimate eco-adventure. With our 9 Zip Lines, 6 Adventure Bridges, and 2.5 hours of on-line fun and excitement; we are one of Wisconsin’s biggest and best tours.
Wildwood Wildlife Park & Nature Center

Grassy Creek Ranch Horseback Riding
A favorite among our guests. Located north of Boulder Junction and in the Northern Highlands State Forest the trails offer you a scenic ride at all times.
Vilas Historical Museum
Located in Sayner the museum houses over 7500 square feet of displays and artifacts. Inside you’ll find the first snowmobile, the pioneer room, guides room, doll collections, native wildlife mounts, lures, boats, outboard motors, and Jim Froelich’s African Safari mounts. The museum is open from Memorial Day to September 30.
Bond Falls
Bond Falls is one of those “best kept secret” spots on the Western Upper Peninsula that you want to make sure you do not miss. This beautiful water fall is located on the middle branch of the Ontonagon River near Paulding. About a 40 minute drive from the resort.
John Dillinger Shoot-out Exhibit at Little Bohemia
View memorabilia & damage from the 1934 shoot-out. Open late-April through December, 4 p.m. daily except Wednesdays. Located in Manitowish Waters.

Wilds’ Granary Restaurant
If you are looking for really great food and beverages in a wonderfully attractive restaurant with reasonable prices, then you will want to make sure you go to The Granary. The Granary Family restaurant is open year round for breakfast and lunch. Whether you’re looking to enjoy a meal or grab and ice cream cone or Smoothie before enjoying a day at the lake, the Granary is a must! Come in and see what’s new at The Granary Family Restaurant!
The Guide’s Inn
Best walleye in the area
Recognized as the best in fine dining in the Northwoods. Featuring more than 35 entrées, all prepared to order. Including numerous veal selections, hand-cut steaks, pasta, house specialties, and much more. Famous for their pan-fried walleye. People visit Boulder Junction just to dine with Chef Jimmy Dean! You’ll want to be sure The Guides Inn Supper Club is on your must do list.
Headwaters Restaurant & Tavern
On a hill overlooking the Manitowish River, this rustic old tavern from the 30’s provides the food, spirits & fun you would expect from the great Northwoods. Enjoy lunch or dinner on our riverside deck.
Mad Dog Jake’s
32 flavors! Chocolate Shoppe ice cream, Chicago-style hot dogs, burgers, Italian beef sandwiches, turkey bacon wraps. New this year appetizers! Sit inside @ the coffee bar or tables or outside under the tent. T’shirts, candy and more! Free Wi-fi.
Sayner-Star Lake
The Sayner Pub
Open from 11am to 2am, good times roll year-round at The Sayner Pub, a full-service sports bar offering a complete menu of sandwiches, salads, signature pizza, and great burgers. The “Pub” also offers a full-service bar. Weekend bands and solo musicians are featured in the summer, and 10 flat screen televisions keep sports fans up to date on their favorite teams.
Stillwaters Restaurant and Tavern
Stillwaters offers a delectable, full dinner menu that includes Sicilian walleye, pasta and meatballs, steaks, prawn shrimp, and all-you-can-eat Friday Fish Fry that is so popular during the summer that we serve it Mondays as well. Thursday is Mexican night with “Buy One, Get One Free” margaritas. Stillwaters also offers a list of 4,000 karaoke songs on Thursday and Saturday nights.
Hillside Tavern and Grill
John and Sue’s favorite pizza in the Northwoods!
Famous for its thin crust pizza, Vinchi’s offers a complete dinner menu, offering a special every night! Specials include lasagna, baked cod, ribs, buffalo wings, and shrimp. The restaurant also offers a Friday Fisherman’s platter complete with walleye and beer-battered shrimp. A fully-dressed soup and salad bar comes with all dinner orders. Restaurant menu items also include specialty sandwiches such as the 8 oz. Italian Sausage Patty Sandwich, the Vinchi’s Philly Steak Sandwich and the Vinchi’s Burger.

Hikers looking to explore the forests will find many designated hiking trails in our area.
Boulder Junction in the Northwoods of Wisconsin is a great place to bike, offering an excellent variety of bicycling opportunities. Paved trails, mountain bike trails and quiet roadways combine to create an incredible bicycling destination. Boulder Junction’s most popular bicycling opportunity is a set of trails that make up the Heart of Vilas County Bike & Hike Trail System. The paved bike trail system is connected to several other communities.

Boulder Junction
“The Musky Capital of the World” Boulder Junction is located in the 225,000 acre Northern Highland State Forest, Boulder Junction has no shortage of places to play or water to explore with its 194 lakes in a ten mile radius.
Sayner-Star Lake
Find yourself in Sayner-Star Lake. Situated on beautiful Plum Lake and Star Lake, they are the home of the Vilas County Historical Museum and the world’s first snowmobile, which is on display year around.
Minocqua
