The beavers been at it again!

The beaver keeps John busy. The beaver builds under the bridge and John tears it down. This happens on a daily basis. I’m sure the poor beaver what keeps happening to his home.

The beaver seems to show up every morning at 2 AM.

Amazing what he can get done in 2 hours!

The birds enjoy the beavers handiwork!

Ducks in the Creek

We’ve had ducks in the creek this past week. I tried to get closer, but they were spooked and flew away. Sure wish I had a telephoto lens!

Hopefully we'll have babies this year.

Busy as a Beaver

It doesn’t take much to realize where this saying came from. The beaver dam we posted on Saturday has grown 3 times larger in just 3 nights! The beaver has been very busy. It’s amazing what they can accomplish in just 3 nights. John and Joe began breaking it apart today. Now the question is: Will they be able to keep up with the beaver?

The pond the beaver dam created is nice, but then the flowage water lever would be lowered, so it's time to dismantle it.

It is truly amazing what one beaver can accomplish! Wouldn't it be great to have that determination!

John and Joe got about a 1/3 of the dam disassembled today.

Charlie surfaces!

Charlie finally made his way from the depths of White Birch Lake. John and Joe finally braved the wind to retrieve Charlie.

Heading out to retrieve Charlie.

Pulling Charlie from the bottom of the lake.

Dragging Charlie to shore.

Charlie made it to shore, even if he is a little water-logged.

Charlie's hanging out on the bird feeder to dry out before he hibernates until next winter.

The Stealth Cam has been busy

The stealth camera has captured a few pictures that last couple of days. Most of the pictures were taken at night so are in black and white, but it still was fun to see who was visiting and when. The photos have the time it was taken (using a 24 hour clock) and the temperature. Enjoy!

Can you figure out who this curious creature is?

Charlie’s Still Underwater!

Poor Charlie is still underwater. It has been too windy to go rescue him. Hopefully Monday we can rescue him from the depths of White Birch Lake. Stay tuned for pictures.

The animals are busy!

The loons arrived this week. It is always so cool to hear that first Loon cry in the spring. The beaver have been very busy both at the bridge and over near the picnic pavilion. We’ve had the stealth camera set up at the bridge hoping to get a picture of him, but so far no luck. We’ll post it if we get lucky. Saw a deer walking along the creek this last week, first deer on the property in a long time. The chipmunks are out running everywhere waiting for people to feed them peanuts.

We discovered this new beaver work today.

Getting our Vacation Homes Ready

John’s been taking advantage of the early spring and getting grills and recycle bins delivered to the vacation homes. Still no rain in our neck of the woods…it’s looking dry. Let’s hope April brings lots of showers!
