Perfect Picnic Day

Today’s picnic was picture perfect. A few clouds in the sky, 75 degrees and no humidity, 96 people and wonderful food. Fun was had by all!

Thanks Lindsey, a first time guest, for sharing her drawing of her vacation. She drew her view from the Barn’s deck.

July 4th week brings storms

The extreme heat made its way to the Northwoods and caused several storms for the 4th of July week. On Monday night, July 2nd, what appears to have been a tornado hit County K at Lost Canoe and White Sand Lake. The road was closed for 1/2 a day on Tuesday as crews cleaned up the trees. Thankfully power was only out for 4 hours during the night because there was more to come. On the 4th of July another system came through. Temperatures dropped 25 degrees in less than 5 minutes, there were funnel clouds seen over White Birch Lake, we lost 14 trees and the power for 26 hours! Many memories. Here are some pictures of County K.

Bear takes a stroll

A young black bear has enjoyed strolling along our hiking trail. My sister was excited to have the photo opportunity. Enjoy!
