Charlie Update
Hello all my faithful Charlie hunters. Sorry it took me so long to get your pictures posted.
Week of June 23-30
Week of June 30 – July 8
As you will see the week of July 7-15 was a very busy week for Charlie. The teams kept changing, but all the kids had a blast with Charlie!
The week of July 14-22 a was a little quieter for Charlie.
Week of July 22-29
Week of July 28 – August 5 was another quiet week for Charlie.
The week of August 4-12 was another week of team work and business for Charlie. In fact all the findings happened between Sunday and Tuesday!
Calandra did such a great job of hiding Charlie he stayed hidden for a whole week and I had to give 4 clues before he was found.
Week of August 11-19
Grace is the last person to have hidden Charlie and he his still hidden there. Will he still be there next year? Stay tuned!
July 4th week brings storms
The extreme heat made its way to the Northwoods and caused several storms for the 4th of July week. On Monday night, July 2nd, what appears to have been a tornado hit County K at Lost Canoe and White Sand Lake. The road was closed for 1/2 a day on Tuesday as crews cleaned up the trees. Thankfully power was only out for 4 hours during the night because there was more to come. On the 4th of July another system came through. Temperatures dropped 25 degrees in less than 5 minutes, there were funnel clouds seen over White Birch Lake, we lost 14 trees and the power for 26 hours! Many memories. Here are some pictures of County K.
Photos after the clean-up
Minnow races begin
Every Tuesday minnow races are happening at the beach. Who will have the fastest minnow. The sound of the musky bell lets everyone know the fun is about to begin.
Charlie’s Feet
It seems the local wildlife want to join in the search for Charlie. All day yesterday and this morning kids went in search for Charlie. All they came up with was Charlie’s feet. It seems a local critter thought Charlie would make for a good dinner. All they left behind was Charlie’s feet. Quinn and Tucker were great hunters as they found the feet. We all hope whoever took Charlie has a tummy ache. 🙂
Fishing with John
One of our 30th Anniversary celebration activities is a night fishing with John. Names can be submitted for a raffle drawing at our weekly picnic. As John says: “I am not a guide, we will just go out for a fun night of fishing.” Depending on interest he will either go out on White Birch Lake or take his canoe to a carry in lake.
Last night John and Curtis went to a carry in lake and had great success catching walleyes. guess what’s for dinner tonight? 🙂
Charlie Update
It’s been a very busy start to the season this year, so I haven’t posted the Charlie pictures. This year’s Charlie is a little smaller, so there have been some fun new hiding spots chosen.

This was Sam and Abby’s first time at WBV. They had fun finding. The battle for the best hiders went back and forth between them and Niko, Lexi, Liam and Landon the week of June 2-10.
Here are some of Charlie’s hiding spots.
