Ice Fishing a success
This past weekend we had a few people up for ice fishing. It was a slow weekend, but everyone hung in there and this morning proved to be a little different.

Snow conditions this winter haven’t been the greatest for snowshoeing. I did get out last week after a new fallen snow. The nature trail is pretty with all the snow on the trees.
John went ice fishing tonight and caught his limit of 25 bluegills. Our guests who stayed in Red Oaks over the holidays had a successful 5 days ice fishing. The largest being a 23 inch walleye!
First thing was to choose the bravest (and lightest) person to go out on the ice. Kendria wins! On goes the life vest and then John ties on the rope.
The snow started falling on Wednesday and ended on Thursday. From a person who used to dislike the snow the Northwoods have made me fall in love with it. It is always picture perfect outside with the fresh snow. We had a total of 6-7 inches of snow. Some areas of the Northwoods had as much as 14 inches. Of course with heavy snow comes power outages. thus I had to wait until today to post pictures. 🙂 Enjoy the pictures.
After two weeks of no sun and misty weather (not even enough rain to help raise the water levels in the lake) we have had beautiful summer like weather this week. 77 degrees here today. Enjoy the latest photos given to us by our guests.
We have had a family of otters playing for the last two weeks. Momma and 3 babies. They have been playing in all the ponds, in the culvert under County K and in the creek. Today has been my first chance of getting a picture. Enjoy.
Here comes the little one. I was hoping to get a picture with Momma with her little one, but my daughter and niece came to watch and screamed with excitement and momma ran away.
