Playground Update

The playground is moving forward. It’s fun to see it come together. Thanks to the kids last year who gave us their thoughts it going to be a fun structure to play on!

There are two towers with a bridge between the two. A rock climbing wall will be on one tower and a spiral slide on the other.

The tire swing will hang under the bridge.

The swings will be to the right of the tower structure.

Docks Go In!

The docks went in this past Wednesday. That’s always the sign that the vacation season is here! We look forward to seeing many of you this year! The day was pleasant this year for the guys who helped put in the docks. They put in a total of 72 sections of dock and 159 posts. It took 7 guys 4 1/2 hours to complete the task. The do enjoy the hot chili lunch that follows their hard work.

Posts are waiting for the sections to arrive.

Posts lined up for the beach dock.

Sections making their way off shore for the beach dock.

Every section and posts are numbered to make it easier to remember where they go. Now all that's missing are the boats!

Busy as a Beaver

It doesn’t take much to realize where this saying came from. The beaver dam we posted on Saturday has grown 3 times larger in just 3 nights! The beaver has been very busy. It’s amazing what they can accomplish in just 3 nights. John and Joe began breaking it apart today. Now the question is: Will they be able to keep up with the beaver?

The pond the beaver dam created is nice, but then the flowage water lever would be lowered, so it's time to dismantle it.

It is truly amazing what one beaver can accomplish! Wouldn't it be great to have that determination!

John and Joe got about a 1/3 of the dam disassembled today.

Getting our Vacation Homes Ready

John’s been taking advantage of the early spring and getting grills and recycle bins delivered to the vacation homes. Still no rain in our neck of the woods…it’s looking dry. Let’s hope April brings lots of showers!

The trees came tumbling down!

We tackled 13 of the largest dead trees on the property today. John and Joe (our newest staff member) will be kept very busy with the clean up!

A little more sun will make its way to the basketball court now with this large tree gone.

We lost the big birch tree by the main dock this winter. It split in half and luckily fell away from the light posts.

We took down 3 large trees behind Balsam Fir.

And the clean up begins......thankfully the weather is beautiful outside!

The chain saws are getting a good work out!

Nothing goes to waste! Our carpenters took some of the large logs to make tables from them.

Ballard/Irving Aerator

For all the fisherman we thought you would enjoy seeing the aerator that is placed at the Ballard/Irving boat landing each winter to keep our 3 lakes oxygenated. The Ballard, Irving, White Birch lakes association maintains the aerator all winter long.

The water is pumped out of the lake through the red unit in the background and then in flows back into the water through the tube in the foreground. You can see the culvert into Irving in the background.
