Mushrooms, mushrooms and more mushrooms!

With all the rain we have had mushrooms have once again made an appearance on our grounds. We had forgotten what a mushroom looks like since it’s been so long since we’ve had any around. They are everywhere right now.

Where ever you walk you can see mushrooms.

Water in the spillway

Thanks to all the rain the spillway has water in it for the first time in several years. Even the muskies are back under the bridge!

The creek flowing into the flowage is full again!

It's great to hear the sound of running water again!

More fish pictures

Our carpenter likes taking these underwater shots. Not so much pine pollen in the water this time. The last ones that were posted the pollen was clouding the water.

Enjoying the crumbs that were dropped in the water.

Swimming along on the bottom of beautiful White Birch Creek!

Under Water Fish Photos

One of our carpenters took some under water photos while he was at the beach working on the playground. A 36 inch musky has been hanging around feeding on all the bluegill that are in spawning.

Unaware of the camera

Porcupine pays a visist

At dusk a few nights ago a porcupine was strolling near the rec building. He wasn’t too sure about John and I there watching him so up the tree he scooted. The hummingbirds arrived on Sunday. we took at chance and put up the feeders today. Hopefully Mr.Bear who visited last night will leave them alone.

May snowfall

The Northwoods can’t decide if it’s spring or not. Four inches of snow fell last night. It sure is pretty outside with trees hanging so low. Hopefully it will melt fast today so we don’t lose any branches with the wet heavy snow. Enjoy the pictures.

Driveway at 6 AM.

Is it really May?

Papa duck trying to find a place to hide from me.

Had to watch where you walked on the property today. Trees hanging low everywhere.

Ducks in the Creek

We’ve had ducks in the creek this past week. I tried to get closer, but they were spooked and flew away. Sure wish I had a telephoto lens!

Hopefully we'll have babies this year.

The animals are busy!

The loons arrived this week. It is always so cool to hear that first Loon cry in the spring. The beaver have been very busy both at the bridge and over near the picnic pavilion. We’ve had the stealth camera set up at the bridge hoping to get a picture of him, but so far no luck. We’ll post it if we get lucky. Saw a deer walking along the creek this last week, first deer on the property in a long time. The chipmunks are out running everywhere waiting for people to feed them peanuts.

We discovered this new beaver work today.

All the ice is gone!

All the ice left the lake during the night. The warm temps and high winds yesterday helped break the rest of the ice up. John and I watched the ice berg move across the lake last night. The wind was so strong we could see it moving! It was a cool sight! Now the wait forthe loons to arrive. It shouldn’t take them long even with the early ice out.
