Not much change with Charlie
Even with the temperatures reaching the 60 degree mark, Charlie is still enjoying his time on the ice. The ice is just beginning to recede from the shore line. How long will Charlie hang on?

With the temperatures rising……it’s 52 degrees here right now…..Charlie is beginning to lean. Last week we were still making ice as the morning temperatures hovered around zero. Trucks were still on the lake ice fishing and there was 20 inches of ice on the lake. This weeks forecast is in the 50’s all week. We’ll keep a daily picture going of Charlie’s progress into the chilly waters of White Birch Lake. Those of you who chose mid April may be the winners! Thirty-eight of you voted this year! After the winner is announced we’ll post all the votes! Good luck everyone!
May love and laughter light your days,
and warm your heart and home.
May good and faithful friends be yours,
wherever you may roam.
May peace and plenty bless your world
with joy that long endures.
May all life’s passing seasons
bring the best to you and yours!
Charlie wishes you a Happy St Patrick’s Day!
Don’t forget to send in your vote for the ice out contest. All submissions are due by March 20th.
Hello Everyone! The ice out contest is so popular this year, please add a time to your guess as we have several people on the same days!
Charlie the Chipmunk has made his 2nd annual trek out onto the ice. Will you be the 2011 Ice Out winner? Make a guess as to when the ice will go out and when Charlie will fall though the ice. Last year the ice went out on March 25th, which is the earliest it has gone out in many years. The norm is sometime in April, but can be as late as early May. So choose your date carefully.
When will Charlie fall through this year? It’s anybody’s guess and you could have the winning date. If Charlie sinks after dark he will be credited to the next day. John and Sue need some sleep too. 🙂
All you need to do is email us at [email protected] with your date as to when Charlie will fall through the ice. All entries must be in our email by March 20th. The contest is open to any age and the winner will get their name added to the plaque in the lodge lobby.
Good Luck and we hope you have fun with the second annual Charlie the Chipmunk Contest. Come back often as we will keep updating photos of Charlie.
Once again we have the final finders of Charlie for 2010. Nathan, Julia and Jane were up visiting Grandma and Grandpa for the weekend and found Charlie.
Well Charlie didn’t stay away long. We were blessed with kids around this beautiful fall weekend and Charlie had to make an appearance!
To the last few kids who found Charlie for 2010 I apologize for my delay on posting your pictures. Charlie was definitely a big success this year. So many hiding spots and lots of huge smiles when Charlie was successfully found! Look for a poster of all his 2010 hiding spots hanging up next summer when you arrive at WBV. What adventures await Charlie? be sure to tune in this winter and cast your vote for the when winter Charlie will fall through the ice!
There are still enough kids around to enjoy looking for Charlie. so another week for Charlie!
Poor baby Charlie, he’s already been broken today. 🙁 It’s good there was another baby Charlie hanging around!
