Heeeeeeeeeeeere’s Charlie!

Charlie’s been found numerous times this week. It’s been fun seeing all the different places kids have chosen to hide Charlie in. Over the course of the summer Charlie has had a few favorite spots. Under the roof line of Loon and Mallard has been chosen 4 times, the fireplace at the beach 3 times, the stump  between Musky and the creek 3 times and under the boardwalk along the creek twice.

Congratulations Bailey for stumbling along Charlie. She found him while she was out doing the geo-cache.

Bailey called this a "peek-a-boo" hiding spot.

Owen and Quinn where stumped by the picture clue because it looked like Charlie was hiding by cement. But when I told them it was wood it didn't take them long to find him. Congratulations!

Calandra has really gotten into Charlie this week. Not only has she found him 3 times she made this replacement Charlie incase the current Charlie gets lost.

She did a great job using her imagination and creative skills!

Charlie’s up for a busy week

Last week Charlie had a quiet week. He got a much needed rest from the weeks before and this next week ahead. I anticipate a lot of findings this week. In fact as I am writing this Charlie is being brought in for his second finding of the morning.

Congratulations John and Lauren for finding Charlie. He had been in his hiding spot for 6 days.

He didn't last long in the fireplace.

Congratulations to Annie, Abby and Sammie for finding Charlie first thing this morning.

Charlie was stuck in this tree by the playground for all of an hour and a half.

Congratulations to Calandra for finding Charlie without the help of a clue or picture.

We'll see how long he lasts in his latest hiding spot!

Feeding the chipmunks

Lydia letting the chipmunks crawl onto her back to get their peanut snack.

The chipmunks are out in full force this year and tamer than ever. They are our official greeting committee when people pull into the driveway!

The fish are biting!

It dawned on me today that I should be posting the photos of the fish that are caught at the resort. We put the pictures up on our bulletin board in the lodge, so I thought I would share them with you also! Here are the two that were caught yesterday both out of the lake and on film! 🙂

The day started with Brian catching this 171/2 inch bass.

And ended with Tom catching this 39 inch musky.

Shore Dinner

Last night we enjoyed a much-needed shore dinner. Ballard Lake has a great camp site for enjoying a meal outside. Good friends and family joined us. The only thing missing was a fish dinner. The resort had other plans for John on our day off. Fixing the well pump took priority over fishing. We settled for homemade sausages from Boulder Market Place. Great decision, they were delicious!

Heading into the channel. Thanks to all the rain this year it's an easy ride through.

The pontoon made it through with the rest of the gang coming by speed boat.

Grilling those great sausages!

That's one big pan of potatoes!

John enjoying a much deserved relaxation time.

Chuck learning how to make pudgy pies.

Eleni's pudgy pie birthday dessert.

The gang at the end of a great time together!

Animal photos

I hope you enjoy these photos of our local wildlife.

It's been awhile since we've seen a deer on the property, but this doe and her fawn have been hanging around lately.

Randy, one of our employee's, took this picture of a tree frog. It was sitting on the door handle to the silo at the Barn.

My niece Taylor took this great photo of a chipmunk in a bush eating.

New week, new Charlie finders

It’s a new week and the kids are on the lookout for Charlie.

Congratulations to Melissa, Julie, Meghan and Kyle for finding Charlie. He definitely is dirty from his last hiding spot.

Charlie has found himself laying on his back this time staring at the sky.
