Newsletter - January 2008

Happy New Year,

What perfect vacationing weather almost all of you enjoyed during the summer of 2007! Along with that came the challenges of low water levels. By mid August the creek and ponds across the road completely dried up. The lake dropped 3 feet making it difficult to get into the boats and to launch a boat. Thankfully by late September the rains came and came and came. The water levels are heading towards normal. We hope for lots of snow this winter. The first measurable snow came on November 5th.

Some of the highlights of 2007 were: the remodeling of the suites in the lodge that became available mid-July, wireless internet service, the new store opened, young guests performed a show in the game room, violin player on the beach, and as always many great vacation memories made! Enjoy the picture highlights of 2007.

We would like to thank all of you who cooperated this past year with our dog/leash rules. By everyone complying, this permits us to continue to allow your canine family member to vacation with you at White Birch Village.

With the decisions we made for the 2008 rates please know that it is difficult for us to raise our rates as we strive to keep our changes to a minimum. But with the increase in our utility, insurance and tax costs we need to change our rates in order to continue to provide you with the best possible vacation experience.

We thoroughly enjoyed our first season as your new managers. We got to see many old friends and meet many new friends. We look forward to another year of helping you experience your Northwoods vacation at White Birch Village.
