Newsletter - February, 2007

Dear Friends,

We appreciate the opportunity of being your hosts at White Birch Village for twenty-five years. It is now time to turn the reins over to the next generation. We are excited that our daughter Sue and her husband John are taking over the management. Sue’s many years of church youth leadership and John’s twenty five years in hotel and county club management will bring great experience and vision to White Birch Village. We are confident that you will give them the same respect and loyalty that you gave us.

We will continue to spend the summer in our house enjoying our retirement. Certainly Dick will continue his love of construction. The lodge continues to take our time and hopes are that a good share of it will be ready for your use this summer. The fitness room is close to being finished.

This past fall we purchased the Dreyfus property, consisting of their home and the cabin Woodside, and will take possession June 1. At this time we have no plans for its use, but it does bring the resort back to its original boundaries.

Thank you all for the pleasure of serving you and we look forward to seeing you in the coming summers.

Carol and Dick

Greetings to you all!

This year White Birch Village celebrates 25 years of friends and family in the northwoods. Through these years we have seen many upgrades and changes in facilities, amenities, and staff. As many of you know, we began the transition of management of the resort in 2006.Twenty-five years ago we were planning our wedding as White Birch Village opened its doors. Now 25 years later we are thrilled to be a part of White Birch Village continuing on for many years to come.

The store and the library will be back for your enjoyment. The game room will have new carpet and the lodge TV room will be there for you to enjoy. For computer techies, we hope to have wireless available in the new library and the TV room. New activities are being planned for all ages.

Relax and enjoy good fishing, kayaking and canoeing, recreational amenities at the sports center, campfires, swimming and nature. We are very proud to provide a fun and active vacation experience in a “northwoods” environment.

The vacation season will soon be upon us and we look forward to seeing all of you!

John & Sue Altschwager

New for the 2007 season:

1.We have created a new designated dog run area. We know the family pooch will enjoy this!

2.All of the White Birch Village buildings are now designated as “No Smoking” facilities. This will help with cabin turnover, eliminate potential health problems for our guests and friends, and reduce fire hazard.
