January, 1985

Dear Friends

We thank all of you who remember us at Christmas. We appreciate hearing from you. We, in turn, wish each of you a belated Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

When we think at the summer of '84 many good things come to mind. -The Fourth of July flag raising, picnic, and fireworks. -Our family of mink living under the new deck. -The many largemouth bass and wall- eyes that were caught. -Grass growing on the hill. -Grandpa's rain-blessed fishing trip in Irving. -Golf ball-sized hailstones in June. -Many children having a good time. -Bob and Punk Wyth celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary.

We were all saddened in July by the sudden death of Judy Lowmiller, friend and long-time White Birch guest.

As many of you know, several trees were felled by a tornado that struck the village in April of '84. We invite you to see those trees now as they have been made into new tables for the lodge.

We continue to winter in Rockford. Jody is beginning her last year at Ithaca College and Carrie is a freshman at Luther College. Brad keeps busy as a junior in high school. With Ginger gone and only Brad at home, our household is sure quiet. We feel very blessed in 1985 as our daughter Sue presented us with our first grandchild. Brian Edwin, born on January 14 in Lacrosse, Wisconsin. Looking forward to seeing you this summer.
